Saffron is the most precious and most expensive spice in the world .It is often referred to as the king of all spicesSaffron is actually the dried stigmas of the flower,crocus sativus Linnaeus.The saffron crocus is a small bulbous perennial-6 to 10 inches high,that produces up to five violet-coloured flowers from each bulb.Each flower holds three dark orange red ,funnel shaped, 1 inche stigmas with lacy, pale tips.These stigmas are removed or stripped and when dried, they are the saffron prized by chefs all over the world. Saffron produced in India(Kashmir) is considered to be the finest in the world and is a sought after quality world wide.
Gathering of Saffron
Only selective flowers are handpicked by our field experts after making sure they are properly grown. These handpicked flowers are spread wide under the sun to make them dry and free from any sort of external impurity.
The stigmas or the saffron filaments have to be hand picked from each flower and more than 75000 flowers are needed to produce just about a pound of saffron

These dried saffron filaments are spread under the sun to free them from moisture to ensure its freshness.The pollen & dirt are removed simultaneously.
The yellow style is then carefully separated from the red filaments along with other floral wastes under carefully supervision and moisture free atmosphere.
The end product is checked yet again to ensure that only thick and long,deep red coloured saffron filaments ,i.e, premium quality is offered to the end user
